Theme conference of the Baltic Assembly and the Baltic Council of Ministers “Developing transport connections and infrastructure in the Region: A Gateway to Europe”

On 25 - 26 May 2017 in Tallinn, the Baltic Assembly and the Baltic Council of Ministers will organise an international conference "Developing transport connections and infrastructure in the Region: A Gateway to Europe".

The conference will provide a possibility for policy makers and field experts to share their views on ways to increase transport connections and develop infrastructure in the Region as well as shaping a Baltic perspective on new intelligent transport systems.

The conference will be divided into three sessions. The first session "Rail Baltica – Importance, Current Status and Next Steps" will focus on the regional project, recent developments and further challenges in order to renew direct connection to the railway network of Europe. The second session “Infrastructure and Transport System in the Baltic States” will analyse local and regional road infrastructure development and discuss the outlook for maritime transport in Baltic Sea Region and cross-border infrastructure and mobility projects. The third session of the conference entitled “New Horizons for Eastern Shore of Baltic Sea – Flexible Modal Shifts for Freight and Passengers” will focus on intelligent transport systems, common and similar types of intelligent transport traffic information systems and important cross-border infrastructure projects.
