On 9 June 2017 in Riga (Latvia), conference of the Baltic Assembly with participation of the Benelux Parliament, GUAM Parliamentary Assembly, Nordic Council and Visegrad Countries entitled “Together in Strengthening Our Cooperation" will be held.

The conference will be organised into two sessions. The first session “EU relations with Eastern neighbours and their perspectives” will discuss the role of the Parliaments of the EU Member States in supporting the six countries in the Eastern neighbourhood and discuss a set of substantial questions - what kind of supporting role the parliaments should play to help the partners in gaining sustainable results? What can we expect to achieve at the fifth Eastern Partnership summit? The second session “People-to-People contacts - the pulse of Eastern Partnership” will discuss the most effective and better known tools across the Eastern Partnership region that brings citizens of the EU and its partner countries closer to one another as well as creates new opportunities for culture, knowledge, experience, and skill exchange.

This conference will be as platform not only for highlighting the key issues but also provide an opportunity to share the best practices accumulated across the parliaments of the EU member states.
