In 2019, the Natural Resources and Environment Committee of the Baltic Assembly focused on following issues:

  • Common gas and electricity market of the Baltic States;
  • Common position of the Baltic States on the 2021-2027 EU Multiannual Financial Framework;
  • Circular Economy (incl. Harmonised Baltic approach in prosumers issue);
  • Development of renewable energy projects, support schemes and joint projects;
  • Implementation of the Paris Agreement and the EU Climate and Energy targets 2030;
  • Parliamentary oversight of implementation of the Baltic Assembly’s recommendations.

The Baltic Assembly and the Nordic Council focus their cooperation on sustainable development and climate policy. See Action Plan for 2018-2019.

The Benelux Interparliamentary Consultative Council (also known as the Benelux Parliament) and Presidium of the Baltic Assembly have defined in their cooperation priorities collaboration in energy market and in meeting the climate targets. See the Joint Declaration for 2019-2021.
