On 5-6 May 2022, the Members of the Baltic Assembly and the national parliaments will be meeting at the Basketball Tournament in Daugavpils, Latvia. This year marks the anniversary of the Basketball Tournament as it will be held for the 15th time. Three games will take place in the context of the tournament: the first one will be between the Lithuanian and Estonian teams of parliamentarians, the second - between the Latvian and Lithuanian teams of parliamentarians, and the last game will take place between the Estonian and Latvian teams of parliamentarians. Afterward, the winner of the Baltic Assembly Cup 2022 will be announced.
The main aim and a brief history of the Basketball tournament
The main aim of the Basketball tournament of the Baltic Assembly is to support and strengthen the cooperation between parliamentarians of the Baltic States and popularise physical activities and a healthy lifestyle in society. See the Regulations. In 2021, the winner of the Basketball tournament was the team of the Parliament of Lithuania.
