Commemorating the 35th anniversary of the Baltic Way


On August 23, 35 years ago, approximately two million people across Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia joined hands in a 600-kilometer-long peaceful protest against Soviet occupation. This powerful act of unity, known as the Baltic Way, became a defining moment in the history of our nations. It left a legacy of solidarity and cooperation that continues to inspire us today.

To honour this historic event, the Baltic Assembly is proud to present a special video featuring the memories and reflections of current and former members of the Baltic Assembly, including:

In this video, our members share personal stories from time of the Baltic Way, discuss its lasting significance, and reflect on the importance of cooperation among the Baltic States today.
