On 10-11 April 2026, the Members of the Baltic Assembly and the national parliaments will meet at the Basketball Tournament in Haapsalu, Estonia. This year marks the 19th time the Baltic Assembly has held a Basketball Tournament.
Three games will take place during the tournament: the first between the Lithuanian and Latvian teams of parliamentarians, the second between the Estonian and Latvian teams, and the last between the Estonian and Lithuanian teams. The opening ceremony of the Basketball Tournament will feature speeches from Timo Suslov, President of the Baltic Assembly, and Lauri Luik, Chair of the Haapsalu City Council.
The main aim of the Basketball Tournament of the Baltic Assembly is to support and strengthen the cooperation between parliamentarians of the Baltic States and popularise physical activities and a healthy lifestyle in society. See the Regulations. In 2025, the winner of the Basketball Tournament was the team of the Parliament of Latvia.
