In 2024, Lithuania is taking over the Presidency in the Baltic Assembly and the Baltic Council of Ministers. During the year, the Presidency will focus on ensuring that the Baltic region is confident in its security, development, and resilience, that the Baltic States are connected, innovative and sustainable, as well as promote unity, support, and consistency in facing regional challenges under the motto "Growing Strong and Resilient Together".
In 2024, the Baltic States will mark the 35th anniversary of the Baltic Way - the day when Lithuanians, Latvians and Estonians joined hands, forming a live human chain to protest the Soviet occupation of their countries. This year also marks 20 years of being in the European Union and NATO. Therefore, the Baltic Assembly will continue to highlight the importance of Baltic unity and solidarity witnessed during these important milestones throughout the year.

During the year, Giedrius Drukteinis is the President of the Baltic Assembly. The Economics, Energy and Innovation Committee is chaired by Jūratė Zailskienė, the Education, Science and Culture Committee - by Agnė Jakavičiutė-Miliauskienė, the Health, Welfare and Family Committee - by Saulius Čaplinskas, the Natural Resources and Environment Committee - by Andrius Busila, the Security and Defence Committee – by Audrius Petrošius and the Budget and Audit Committee – by Jūratė Zailskienė.
