Committee of the Baltic Assembly to discuss security in the Baltic States after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine

On 29 April 2022, the meeting of the Security and Defence Committee of the Baltic Assembly will take place in Nida, Lithuania. During the meeting, parliamentarians, government representatives, and experts will focus on the security challenges in the Baltic region and discuss such topics as the Russian Federation’s invasion of Ukraine and its effects on the security of the Baltic States, including the recent developments in Ukraine and the activities of the Baltic States to support the country. Another topic discussed will be the preparedness in civil protection of the Baltic States, such as the current state and the ability to jointly respond to emergencies and disasters in the region. Lastly, a political debate will be held about the geopolitics and security in Europe after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
