On 1-2 October 2021, the Members of the Baltic Assembly will be meeting at the Basketball Tournament in Kaunas, Lithuania. This will be the 14th Basketball Tournament of the Baltic Assembly. In 2020, due to the COVID-19 restrictions, the tournament was cancelled. Three games will take place in the the context of the tournament: the first one will be between the Latvian and Estonian team of parliamentarians, the second - between the Lithuanian and Estonian team of parliamentarians and the last game will take place between the Lithuanian and Latvian team of parliamentarians. Afterwards, the winner of the Baltic Assembly Cup 2021 will be announced.
The main aim and brief history of the Basketball tournament
The main aim of the Basketball tournament of the Baltic Assembly is to support and strengthen the cooperation between parliamentarians of the Baltic states, popularise physical activities and healthy lifestyle in society. See the Regulations. In 2019, the winner of the Basketball tournament was the team of the Parliament of Latvia.
