Summit of the Baltic Assembly and the Nordic Council to be held in Reykjavik


On 4-6 September in Reykjavik (Iceland), the Summit of the Baltic Assembly and the Nordic Council will be held. 

During the Summit, parliamentarians from the Baltic and Nordic countries as well as invited guests from Ukraine and opposition representatives from Belarus and Russia will discuss the current situation in Europe, paying particular attention to the countries the guests represent, as well as how the Baltic and Nordic countries can contribute to the peace in the region. 

The Baltic and Nordic parliamentarians will also discuss energy security in the region and further developing cooperation in this area. 

The Baltic Assembly in the Summit is represented by President Jānis Vucāns, Vice President Andrius Kupčinskas, Members of the Presidium Inese Voika, Sven Sester and Orinta Leiputė, as well as Vice Chair of the Security and Defence Committee Audrius Petrošius and his colleague from the Committee Anti Poolamets.
