Baltic parliamentarians to discuss strengthening media area and cultural cooperation after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine

On 27 May 2022, the meeting of the Education, Science and Culture Committee of the Baltic Assembly will take place in Vilnius, Lithuania. During the meeting, parliamentarians, government representatives, and experts will focus on the joint actions to strengthen the media and information area of the Baltic States, as well as will assess the impact of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on the Baltic information area. Another topic discussed will be the future of the cultural cooperation of the Baltic States, including addressing the consequences of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Lastly, governmental representatives will report on the implementation of the recommendations of the Baltic Assembly in 2021 and plans for 2022 regarding minimizing the environmental footprint in cultural events, a joint web-based platform for cultural events, and possibilities to apply international marketing and communication strategy for the Baltic region.
